The herbs and essential oils
that are used in a spa and the various facial, skin, hair care and cellulite treatments that are done in a spa can also be used and done at home on your own. Cellulite treatments at home are typically less expensive than their equivalent spa treatments are, and they can include ingredients right from your kitchen cabinets and refrigerator. Some ingredients and supplies may have to be purchased, but even so, it is still less expensive to do these treatments at home. You do not even need a full day of your time to get rid of cellulite the natural way.
Coffee and Olive Oil Wrap
You can make a coffee and olive oil wrap very easily at home. Use the microwave to heat up a half-cup of ground coffee (with caffeine) and a little extra virgin olive oil. Heat for 20 seconds and spread the mix on the cellulite, and then wrap plastic wrap around it. Leave it on for 20 to 30 minutes and rinse it off with warm water. You can also use seaweed strips with coffee and wrap with plastic wrap if you prefer it to olive oil.
Clay and Honey Wrap
Green clay, honey, lime juice and hot water makes a good cellulite wrap mix and is a wrap that can be used on a weekly basis. Make sure to rub the mixture into the affected area using circular motions. Wrap the mixture with plastic wrap, leave it on for 20 to 30 minutes and then rinse it clean. Seaweed has been touted as a very good cellulite eliminator since it acts as a vasodilator and is known to improve the texture of skin.
Ginger Coffee Cellulite Wrap
This cellulite treatment blend is more complicated than some other treatments are and has more ingredients than most other cellulite wrap mixtures do, but it is effective. For this treatment, you mix the ingredients and put them in a glass jar for use over a period of a few days. It requires caffeinated coffee grounds, cinnamon, brown sugar, chopped hazelnuts, olive oil, jojoba oil, almond oil, fresh ginger root and essential oil (orange or the one of your preference). You then boil these ingredients with water, allow the resulting mixture to cool a bit, apply it to the affected area and leave it on for 40 minutes. You can also wrap the treated area with towels instead of with plastic wrap.
Herbal Tea Cellulite Wrap
When using herbal tea for body wraps, you need to use the kind that contains natural caffeine as opposed to the decaffeinated kind. Find a large bowl and put one cup each of chamomile, ginger, lavender or any herbal tea into it. The bowl or container needs to be large enough to dip towels into it. You will also need at least two towels or some sheets that have been cut into pieces. Soak the dipped towels/sheet pieces in the tea mix, wrap them around the affected area and relax for 10 minutes.
Clay and Salt Wrap
This mixture is similar to the herbal tea wrap, just with different ingredients being used. You need a large bowl or bucket, towels or sheets and a plastic mat. Let one cup of salt dissolve in the bowl/bucket and slowly add 3 cups of clay, while stirring as you go. When a thick paste is formed, apply it to the skin and wrap with towels/sheets. Then, relax for 10 to 15 minutes.
Lemon and Honey Wrap
This body wrap increases blood circulation and aids in cellulite reduction. You will need five tablespoons of honey, half of a lemon and two tablespoons of sea salt. Use the whole lemon by squeezing the juice and grating the rind into a bowl, then add the honey and the sea salt. Dip the towels into the mixture and apply it to the affected areas. This mixture should be left on for 15 minutes.
These homemade body wraps can do the trick to fight cellulite, along with the proper diet and exercise program. Make changes in your diet such as eliminating fast foods, processed foods and refined carbohydrates. You can also replace unhealthy foods with fresh fruits and vegetables in order to reduce cellulite. You may even want to try a detox program while you are using any cellulite treatment at home to boost the effects even further. Get active and exercise even if that means a 30-minute walk a day. By adjusting your diet and activity levels, as well as using the homemade body wraps described above, anyone can reduce the cellulite deposits on their body.
